At Oklahoma Cancer Center, it’s not just about a cure, but also about maintaining quality of life during and after treatment.

360 Cancer Care

Cancer is complicated. It impacts the body, mind and spirit. It impacts the patient, and also the patient’s family and friends. It is a disease with its own symptoms and side effects, but can also lead to other ailments that need treatment or monitoring. This is why Oklahoma Cancer Center offers 360 CANCER CARE

This is care that treats the patient and provides support services for the patient’s family and friends. It is care that offers all of the possible treatment options available today, including immunotherapy, chemotherapy, surgery, and state-of-the-art proton therapy. It is care that understands there is a physical disease that needs treating, but also that mental health and maintenance are just as important during and after treatment. It is care that includes a group of physicians and specialists operating as part of a multi-specialty team. It is care that wants to treat the disease but also maximize quality of life during and after treatment.

And the Oklahoma Cancer Center knows that the end of treatment isn’t the end of the patient’s cancer journey which is why 360 CANCER CARE includes patient survivorship and advocacy programs for patients after they finish.

More than a Cure,
Quality of Life

We know that cancer treatment can take a toll on the body. That’s why at Oklahoma Cancer Center we focus on more than just treating the cancer. We also focus on ensuring patients are able to maintain as high a quality of life as possible during and after treatment. We do this by creating a unique treatment plan for each patient that uses the latest advances in precision medicine. This could include targeted drugs or immunotherapy agents or precision proton therapy that reduces side effects by delivering less radiation to healthy tissue.

We also combine treatment with other therapies and services such as nutrition, physical therapy, counseling and mental health, and functional medicine. All of this ensures that a patient is getting more than a cure – they are maintaining quality of life.

Precision Therapy, Passionate Care

Proton therapy is a form of radiation treatment that delivers an exact, high dose of radiation to a tumor site while sparing surrounding healthy tissue and organs from damage, reducing the risk of negative side effects during and following treatment. It is non-invasive, non-surgical, and precise, making it an ideal treatment for localized cancers that have not spread to other parts of the body. If a physician recommends radiation therapy as part of a patient’s cancer treatment, proton therapy is likely an option.
